
Butter Chicken
Easy one pot butter chicken recipe
Ingredients
For the chicken marination
- 3 pounds Boneless Chicken Breast cut it in cubes
- 1 cup Yogurt
- 2 tbsp Ginger & Garlic Paste
- 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
- 1 tbsp Red Chili Powder
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 2 tbsp Mustard Oil
- Salt to taste
For the Curry
- Ghee as needed
- 3 Green Cardamoms
- 5 Peppercorns
- 1/2 Cinnamon Stick
- 2 Cloves
- 2 tbsp Ginger & Garlic Paste
- 4 Chopped Green Chilies
- 3 cups Tomato Puree
- 1 tbsp Red Chili Powder
- 1 tbsp Garam Masala Powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup Water
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 2 tbsp Dried Fenugreek Leaves
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- Fresh Coriander Leaves as needed
Instructions
- Marinate chicken in the ingredients above for an hour or overnight.
- Cook the marinated chicken in 4 tbsp ghee for 10 minutes on medium heat, remove from the pan once cooked and set aside.
- In the same cooking pan heat 5 tbsp of ghee and fry cardamoms, peppercorns, cinnamon and cloves. Add ginger & garlic paste and green chilies. Cook on medium heat for 4 minutes.
- Add tomato puree, red chili powder, garam masala, salt, water, and simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.
- Add sugar, dried fenugreek leaves, cooked chicken and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add the heavy cream and mix, remove from heat and sprinkle fresh coriander leaves.
- Serve with Naan or rice and enjoy!
